The shallows along an Alaskan sandbar or lake edge were a convenient put-down location for a ââ¬ÅWidgeonââ¬Â seaplane engaged in spot checks of Alaska anglers in 1949. Here, C.L. Anderson, director of Alaskaââ¬â¢s Territorial fisheries department and Louis McDonald, assistant to the director, take a break while on patrol on Sitkoh Lake in southeastern Alaska.
