OVER NEVADA—An F/A-22 Raptor from Nellis Air Force Base, Nev., heads out for an operational test mission. The Raptor recently finished avionics engineering manufacturing development testing at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif., and surpassed 2,592 flight hours, pushing the aircraft one step closer to taking its place as the premiere weapon system of the U.S. Air Force.
