Biologists, partners, friends, and volunteers of the Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge, Woodbridge, Virginia hosted its Second Annual Youth Fishing Day on May 31, 2003. The event allowed fishing opportunities for local youths in a pond usually closed to fishing and local groups provided guidance, fishing tackle, and prizes. Many young successful anglers caught fishes including bluegill, catfish, and largemouth bass. Staff and volunteers also provided lunches and drinks under a big tent. Several display booths depicted the mission, work, and public opportunities in the National Wildlife Refuge System. Photo taken: 5/31/03 ELECTRONIC IMAGE ONLY! (no slide exists)
