This photo was taken near Rhode Island’s new visitor center. The pond is an exemplary glacial kettle pond representing the geological moraine features in Southern Rhode. After Glacial ice melts, kame deposits are often characterized by hollows known as kettles, which are left when blocks of ice melt.
