U-2 - Rita reconnaissance returns

BEALE AIR FORCE BASE, Calif.—Lt. Col. Bourke Milligan returns from a U-2 mission to take images before Hurricane Rita hit the Gulf Coast region. Federal Emergency Management Agency officials asked the 9th Reconnaissance Wing to take images over Louisiana and Texas to assess before Hurricane Rita hit the area. The wing’s Airmen are standing by to conduct additional post-hurricane missions to help assess the damage and assist emergency responders.
