The historic banyan tree is all that remains of the Nob Hill Bachelor Officer’s Quarters at Pearl Harbor. Following the attack on Pearl Harbor the BOQ housed families from Ford Island for days following the Pearl Harbor attack on December 7, 1941. The BOQ was demolished in 1952. Officers of the NOAA Ship KA’IMIMOANA pay their respects to the memory of those who served here.
