The BCF fishing vessel ALOSA

The BCF fishing vessel ALOSA. This vessel was operated out of the BCF laboratory at Oxford, Maryland, and used for specimen collection, hydrographic water column observations, and other purposes. Alosa is the genus for the river herrings or shads. The Oxford Laboratory building is seen to the left of the bow of the vessel.
