Route of 292nd Field Artillery Observation Battalion during WWII. The Battalion Survey Officer, Major Charles Chenworth, had been transferred from the Coast and Geodetic Survey. Most FAOB’s had C&GS officers as Survey officers and at least one, the XVIth had Coast Surveyor Joseph Lushene as commanding officer.
