Ramona’s home at Camulos Ranch. Ramona was made famous by Helen Hunt Jackson who wrote the famous novel “Ramona” about the ill-treatment of native Americans. Helen Hunt Jackson was first married to Edward Bissell Hunt, an Army officer who was a protege of Alexander Dallas Bache, 2nd Superintendent of the Coast Survey. In: “California of the South” by W.
