Pacific Walrus at Cape Peirce

(Odobenus rosmarus)

Pacific Walrus utilize beaches around Cape Peirce as haulout areas on which to rest between feeding forays. These beaches are surrounded by sheer cliffs affording the walrus protection from predators.
