Monitoring a tide gage to compare digitally collected and transmitted readings t to visual observation. The square instrument on a tripod transmits tidal information to a GOES satellite which in turn downloads to a NOAA CO-OPS processing facility. The round instrument on the yellow tripod is a GPS receiver which is used to correct GPS data acquired during launch hydrography.
