The Million Dollar Bridge, more formerly known as the Miles Glacier Bridge, spans the Copper River. It was built in the early 1900s, fifty miles from Cordova, Alaska. It was a railroad bridge used to accommodate trains carrying copper from the mining town of Kennicott, located in the Wrangell - St Elias National Park and Preserve, to the port of Cordova. In 1964, one span of the bridge slipped off its foundation during the Good Friday Earthquake. The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places.
