Large red squid near seafloor. Possibly Pholidoteuthis adami. The red color serves as camouflage as the only light found in the depths of the ocean is blue. Blue light does not reflect off red animals and makes them much more difficult to see unless having a source of bright white light such as on the Little Herc ROV. Pholidoteuthis adami.
