KC-135 Stratotanker - Carbon brake tests increase tanker's capabilities

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif.—Firefighters from the Air Force Flight Test Center Fire Department here spray down KC-135 Stratotanker tires after a carbon brake test. Testing determined that carbon brakes performed more efficiently and gave the aircraft increased operational capability over steel brakes that currently equip the aircraft.
