Fisherman Joao Alves looks on as Southwest Fisheries Science Center scientists Sue Manion and Ron Dotson deploy a bongo net on the ship’s Winter California Cooperative Oceanic Fisheries Investigations (CalCOFI). CalCOFI is one of the longest ongoing fisheries investigations conducted by NOAA.
