SETTING BEAVER TRAP. Refuge personnel engage in a variety of habitat management activities ranging from habitat enhancement to pest control, including dealing with beavers whose activities may damage critical water control structures. Service employees avoid management actions that may adversely affect threatened and endangered species. Many management actions that restore or otherwise manage habitats for other species also provide benefits to species on or adjacent to refuge lands.
