Force-feeding of radioactive pellets to fingerling salmon. This was done to study the rates of metabolism of various trace elements introduced orally. Special diet pellets containing standardized amounts of radioisotopes of the trace elements to be studied are loaded into a special feeding tube, the fish anesthesized, and the pellet forced down by a plunger.
