AVIANO AIR BASE Italy—F-16 Fighting Falcons from the 510th Fighter Squadron are chilled after nearly six inches of snow accumulated here Feb. 21. Other than on the Italian Alps, snow does not hang around long in Italy. The area averages less than four inches of snowfall annually; the last significant snowfall was in December 2001.
