Close-up of the arms of a feather star. Although crinoids are pentaradial, some have multiples of five arms up to as many as 200. Note the small cilia, hair- like structures, on the arms that facilitate feeding by moving captured material down the arm to the mouth. This region has a spectacular diversity of crinoids.
