MCGUIRE AIR FORCE BASE, N.J.—Equipment headed for New Orleans International Airport to assist in the Hurricane Katrina relief effort is loaded onto a C-17 Globemaster III by Airmen with the 305th Aerial Port Squadron here Aug. 31. Twenty-nine Airmen from the 819th Global Support Squadron and 110,000 pounds of equipment departed for the region. The 819th GSS trains and rapidly deploys Airmen to quickly open airfields in remote locations extending Air Mobility Command’s ability to deploy people and equipment worldwide.
