Banks Lake NWR, Lakeland, Georgia: Banks Lake Refuge is a satellite of the larger and more well-known Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge. It consists of a lake surrounded by marshes and punctuated by impressive bald cypresses. It is prime habitat for fish such as bass and bream; wood ducks, cranes, and various other waterfowl, wading birds, and shorebirds. There are no visitor facilities at this refuge.
