Albert Boschke’s map of the District of Columbia. Boschke produced this map while moonlighting. He was cartographer with the C&GS. This map was considered so accurate and the placement of buildings and other cultural objects so precise, that the Army confiscated the map and the accompanying copper plates at the beginning of the Civil.
