A nesting Adelie penguin

A nesting Adelie penguin. Adults build nests made of small stones, and parents take turns incubating the two eggs. The French explorer Jules Dumont d’Urville named these penguins after his wife , Adelie. They are the smallest species of penguin in the Antarctic.
