A magnificent headland at Point Lobos as seen through Monterey Cypress, Cupressus macrocarpa. The orange algae growing on the trees is Trentepohlia aurea v. polycarpa, a green alga which is rich in beta carotene. This algae is non-parasitic and generally grows on the side closest to salt spray.
